At Full Council this week, I was very pleased to support a proposal for a new twinning arrangement between Kettering and Falmouth in Jamaica.
This will be a fantastic way to remember the proud legacy of William Knibb, one of Kettering’s most famous sons who worked tirelessly to end the scourge of slavery.
Kettering already has strong cultural links with our twin town Lahnstein in Germany. What better way to enhance tourism, improve cultural understanding and commemorate one of the proudest moments in Kettering’s history than forging links with our Jamaican friends?
